Picture-Perfect 2009 Classic

(CLICK HERE to see pictures from the 2009 Classic)

There may not have been as many golfers on the course as usual, but it's safe to say that everyone who was there had an outstanding tournament experience at the 11th annual United Way Frank McDonald Memorial Golf Classic. A decent breeze and picture-perfect weather enhanced an already-manicured 18 holes at The Honors on April 27. Thirty teams challenged the course, with some faring better than others, but all having a memorable day on the course!

GMC Truck is safe for another year
No one drove away in the GMC Sierra Hybrid offered by sponsor Kelly Auto Group, with many golfers blaming the pin placement. Whatever the reason, United Way thanks Kelly for again sponsoring the hole-in-one contest prizes for the tournament.

Incredible service!
The professional staff at the Honors provided impeccible service throughout the day, including exquisite course conditions and some sumptuous treats for the awards luncheon and evening reception. Thanks to Club Pro Henrik Simonsen and his staff of assistants and caddies, and also to Club Manager Ashton Harris and his crew for their hospitality.

Many other thanks
United Way thanks our tournament sponsors, Coca-Cola Bottling of Chattanooga, BI-LO and the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Also, thanks to supporting sponsors Golf Headquarters and Budweiser of Chattanooga. Without their support, this tournament would not be possible.
Also, BIG thanks to the Classic Committee, the members of which have labored for many months putting this tournament together. They are: Mike Costa of WTVC TV, Chairman, Ryan May and Gary Davis of Coca-Cola, Tanya Williamson of the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Curtis Johnson of BI-LO, Mickey McCamish and Bill Webb. These volunteers put in much work to organize and produce this tournament, all to raise money to help United Way of Greater Chattanooga build a stronger and healthier community.

Stay tuned!
We're still counting! Coming soon, we'll post the fundraising results for this tournament. In the meantime, CLICK HERE to fill out our tournament survey.

THANK YOU, and come back to the Classic NEXT YEAR!
